Fantasy and Science Fiction magazine is the great granddaddy of them all, and like great granddaddies hasn’t always been open to the latest fads in submissions technology, like electronic subs (how would us folks from across the sea attach an International Reply Coupon to an email, right?)
Oh, I kid; I kid because I love.
C.C. Finlay is guest-editing the upcoming July/August issue, and F&SF is opening to electronic submission for the first time! Mr Finlay is very excited to buy some stories:
There is no special theme for this issue. I’m looking for great stories, the kind that will appeal to science fiction and fantasy readers. You know what I’m talking about. The speculative element may be slight, but it should be present. I prefer character-oriented stories, but that’s no surprise either. Fantasy & Science Fiction generally receives a lot of fantasy fiction, but never enough science fiction or humor. I like science fiction. I like to laugh.
The magazine is paying an excellent 7 to 12c per word, for stories up to 10,000 words, and you can expect a reply by the end of February.
Good luck everyone! Check out the full guidelines here: http://ccfinlay.com/blog/guest-editing-fsf.html
