Monday Market – ‘Black Beacons: Brisbane’ anthology

I had a great weekend at GenreCon in my home town of Brisbane this week, and some beers may have been consumed afterwards in conversation with writers. That’s where Cameron Trost introduced me to Black Beacon Books‘ open anthology for Brisbane-based crime stories:

We want your mysterious, strange, twisted and suspenseful tales set in Brisbane. Please note that supernatural tales will not be accepted. Ghostly happenings and spooky atmospheres (think Scooby Doo or The Hound of the Baskervilles) are fine, but no actual monsters or vampires or zombies, OK?
The story MUST be set in or have a strong connection to Brisbane, Australia. It can be set at any time in the present or past.

It’s a token payment of $10AUD plus print and ebook contributor copies, but it’s important to reward small press that puts the effort into paying its contributors. They’re looking for stories from 2,500 to 25,000 words, so see if you have something suitable.
